Product Description

Zirconia Alumina

Zirconium alumina abrasive is an abrasive material made of bauxite (or alumina powder), zircon sand, carbon material and iron filings.  Alumina Zirconia produced by electro fusing zirconium and alumina raw materials in an electric arc furnace, and then by quenching, crushing and sieving the fused mineral into selected grain sizes. Zirconium Alumina has small crystal size and a unique microstructure, which give it excellent toughness, hardness, cutting capacity, and durability. Depending on the application, Zirconium Alumina is often far superior to brown fused alumina, silicon carbide and other traditional abrasive materials.

According to the content of ZrO2, Zirconium alumina is divided into low Zirconium alumina (ZrO2 10%~15%), medium Zirconium alumina (ZrO2 25%) and high Zirconium alumina (ZrO2 40%). Low chromium balls contain 1%-3% chromium, hardness HRC≥45; various alloy balls contain 4%-6% chromium, hardness HRC≥47; medium chromium alloy balls contain 7%-10% chromium, hardness HRC ≥48; high chromium alloy balls with chromium content ≥10%-14%, hardness HRC≥58; special high chromium balls with chromium content above 14%, hardness HRC≥58.
