Black Silicon Carbide

Black Silicon Carbide(SiC) is the product of silicon quartz sand and petroleum coke electro fused at high temperature in an electrical resistance furnace. The grains of Black Silicon Carbide are hexagonal crystals that are extremely hard, sharp, friable, and high strength(at 1000℃, SiC is 7.5 stronger than Al2O3), and have outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion. It is widely used in the manufacture of grinding wheels, oil stones, Frankfurt and other Bonded abrasives.

Application

1. Bonded Abrasives: It is an ideal materials for Vitrified Grinding Wheels, Resin Grinding Wheels, Brake Pads/ Block, Frankfurt, Marble Polishing Stones, Oil Stones, Mounted Stones, Polishing Sticks.
2. Coated Abrasives: It is used to make coated abrasive products, such as sandpaper and are available in sheets, discs, rolls, belts, pads wheels and other forms.
3. Sandblasting / Polishing / Lapping: It is useful for grinding glass, removing mill scales and any other application where aggressive abrasives are required.
4. Refractories: furnace and incinerator linings, kiln furniture, fire bricks, refractory cement, electric heating elements, etc.
